Position Summary
The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) supports Bristol Myers Squibb’s strategy to drive meaningful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and accelerate adoption of BMS cardiovascular medicines. The TAS serves as the primary field contact for physicians and other HCPs, building strong professional credibility and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through scientific dialogue and insight‑based interactions.
Key Responsibilities Portfolio Promotion- Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a specified territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products to appropriate patients.
- Maintains and expands scientific expertise on all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Uses tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans.
- Provides feedback on tool usage to enable continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and uses approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
- Conducts in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discusses product‑related scientific information consistent with label.
- Organizes external speaker programs, selecting approved speakers and handling scheduling and logistics.
- Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
- Leverages Medical onCall for real‑time medical support in responding to unsolicited questions and technical inquiries.
- Proactively collaborates with other field teams to enhance the Customer Experience for HCPs.
- Shares relevant insights and information internally to enable better customer service.
- Complies with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies governing conduct.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales, medical science liaison, HCP engagement, or nursing.
- Excellent communication skills to convey scientific and clinical data accurately.
- Proven track record of building credibility with key customers and stakeholders.
- Experience in cardiovascular therapeutics preferred.
- Strong account management and sales performance, with a history of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Effective cross‑functional teamwork and a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Strong selling and promotional skills demonstrated by a track record of success.
- Ability to drive business results.
- Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating credibility with customers throughout the patient care journey.
- Strong account management and problem‑solving skills.

- Competent with CE^3 and other CRM tools for data entry, management, and interaction tracking.
- Uses Medical onCall technology effectively.
- Stays current with technological advancements.
