Under the New Truck Manager, the New Truck Salesman is responsible for sales of New & Used Trucks and Trailers in an assigned territory or account within the dealer Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Essential Job Functions- Sells new and used equipment in assigned territory.
- Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge.
- Promotes other dealer offerings such as parts and service, finance and insurance.
- Understands pricing and proposal models and creates effective proposal presentations and RFP responses.
- Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email and networking as it relates to the AOR.
- Completes required Freightliner certifications and training courses.
- Implements company marketing plans.
- Maintains detailed and accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and DOT Medical Card.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- One or two years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
