Job Description & How to Apply Below

Timbersync is a fast-growing startup based in Lexington, Kentucky, one of just a handful of young tech companies calling the city home. We're on a mission to modernize a massive, old-school industry, swapping phone calls and paperwork for real-time tools that keep everyone connected and moving. We're growing fast and we want people who are genuinely excited to build: ambitious, driven, and all in on the mission.

About the Role

Timbersync is hiring a Sales Ops Specialist to support our Senior Sales Manager and sales team by owning the operational, administrative, and research work that keeps our sales pipeline moving. This is an entry-level role, no prior sales or industry experience required, ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate who is organized, curious, and eager to learn how a sales organization actually runs from the inside.

You'll be embedded day-to-day with our sales team, and your work will directly influence how much time our sales manager can spend building customer relationships and closing business.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and clean up the CRM throughout the day: updating deal stages, logging customer interactions, organizing records, setting follow-up reminders, and keeping pipeline data accurate.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming leads, and help qualify and move prospects through the sales pipeline, including identifying dormant or aging opportunities worth re-engaging.
  • Research market conditions, customer companies, and industry news, and summarize findings into concise, actionable briefs the sales team can use to prioritize their day.
  • Prepare customer-facing materials, including research briefs ahead of meetings, proposal drafts, and pricing/supporting documentation.
  • Support customer communications: scheduling meetings, confirming appointments, sending follow-ups, and helping with onboarding.
  • Assist with the closing process, including contracts, paperwork, e-signatures, and CRM updates needed to keep deals moving without delay.
  • Provide general administrative support to keep the sales team organized and focused on high-value selling activity.
  • Identify which sales tasks and processes are good candidates for automation, and help write specs that our development team can use to build those automations and tools.

Who You Are

  • You don't need to be a natural-born salesperson. What matters more is that you're organized, understand how businesses operate and make decisions, and enjoy staying on top of sales enablement technology and automation tools.
  • No prior professional experience required. This role is designed as an entry point into sales operations.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience/coursework).
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, comfortable juggling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communicator, comfortable interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive self-starter who looks for ways to be useful without waiting to be asked.
  • Comfortable learning new software tools (CRM systems, scheduling tools, office software); prior CRM experience is a plus but not required.
  • Performance-based bonus/commission opportunities tied to sales pipeline results
  • Formal performance and compensation review at 6 months, with opportunity for promotion and/or salary increase
  • Health insurance and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Paid time off: up to 10 business days/year in Years 1–5, increasing to up to 25 days/year starting Year 6
