Required License/Registration/Certification: Will be required to get certified in the use of the Museum’s Work Assist Vehicle (WAV) upon hiring.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Shift: 1st shift Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM.

Job Summary

The William S. Webb Museum of Anthropology and Office of State Archaeology seeks a temporary Museum Project Assistant to assist with reorganizing museum storage and laboratory spaces.

  • Assembling shelving
  • Relocating cabinets and equipment
  • Moving archaeological collections and museum materials
  • Assisting with facility improvement projects

The position requires physical work, attention to detail, and the ability to safely handle museum artifacts and operate basic tools and equipment.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use hand and basic power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle fragile materials with care.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and operate the Museum’s Work Assist Vehicle (WAV).

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No

Preferred Education/Experience

Experience assembling shelving or furniture, using hand and power tools, warehouse or moving experience, or experience handling museum collections or other fragile materials preferred.
