Summary:
The Hospital Security Department ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The team monitors access points, patrols hospital grounds, and responds to emergencies while supporting hospital policies.
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property.
- Monitor surveillance equipment.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Permit entry.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
- Inform violators of policy and procedures.
- Restrain trespassers.
- Keep Security supervisor informed of all issues.
- Assist Supervisor with special and assigned projects such as locks and keys, security assessments, and product reviews.
- Perform essential duties with limited supervision.
- Use non‑violent crisis intervention when needed to deal with visitors, patients, families, and employees.
- Deal with patients and customers in all age categories from infant to geriatric.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Valid driver’s license with no violations for 2 years.
- Ability to achieve Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Must obtain Taser/CEW, De‑Escalation, Handcuffing, and Defensive tactics certification within 6 months.
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) with International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety certification within one year of employment.
