Position

Summary

The Security Officer is assigned to the Security Department and reports to the Assistant Security Manager. This position has primary responsibility for maintaining security access and control to all areas of the Central Bank Center Complex, including the Lexington Opera House. The role includes working in Security Headquarters, making routine rounds throughout the complex, providing customer service to clients and patrons as they arrive, and assisting with all incidents as they may arise.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $18.00
.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary communications hub for the security team. Receive, evaluate, and prioritize incoming emergency and non‑emergency calls, dispatching appropriate personnel via two‑way radio or phone.
  • Actively monitor CCTV cameras, fire alarm panels, intrusion detection systems, and Alertus alarms to identify and preemptively address security breaches or safety hazards.
  • Maintain a precise, real‑time chronological log of all shifts’ activity, incidents, system alarms, and personnel deployments using 24/7 incident management software.
  • Oversee the secure issuance, tracking, and return of operational keys, radios, and specialized security equipment.
  • Remotely manage building access by verifying credentials, securing doors, and controlling gates.
  • Implement emergency standard operating procedures (SOPs) during critical incidents such as medical emergencies, severe weather, active threats. Coordinate swiftly with local law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS.
  • Investigate and document all suspicious activities and report them to the appropriate authorities.
  • Responsible for filling out incident and/or accident reports as needed.
  • Prepare appropriate reports and forms as required by department policy.
  • Ensure that housekeeping, safety, alcohol control, and security issues comply with department policies.
  • Perform special projects as needed or requested.
  • Welcome and assist patrons, clients, and the general public upon their arrival to the complex.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by Management.
Qualifications
  • Must have a general knowledge of the security industry, specifically in the crowd management areas of public events.
  • Prior security experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well under stress and exercise good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and tact under all circumstances.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
