7:30am – 4:15pm
Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors and may include some nights(s), weekend(s), and holiday(s) response.
This position will work as a team leader for 1-5 employees & will complete all duties of an Electronic Tech I & II. This position coordinates job site responsibilities, makes decisions and ensures proper communication to supervisors, customers, and colleagues.
Responsibilities include:
- work on computer systems
- read volt meters and technical writings
- design, install, operate, and maintain complex systems
- work with the fi re marshal to conduct fire alarms inspections
- order supplies and maintain inventory records
- ensure safety
- prepare cost estimates on projects associated with Energy Management Systems (self-contained emergency lights, intercom systems, etc.)
- assist with designs and modifications for expansion and renovation projects
- prepare cost estimates
- maintain technical drawings
- follow-up with customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- collaborate with customers, department, and shops across the University
This individual must be available for emergency call-backs, work overtime as needed, and take on responsibilities as assigned. This position may also require some shift work.
Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesInstallation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems. Knowledge of circuit theories. Ability to communicate effectively with others. High attention to detail.

Preferred Education/ExperienceTwo years of related experience and fire alarm license are preferred.
