Position SummaryThe Warehouse Assistant supports the day‑to‑day operations of a construction/HVAC warehouse by managing materials, tools, and equipment used in the field. This role plays a critical part in ensuring technicians and project teams have the right materials at the right time to keep jobs on schedule. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, field‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming HVAC equipment, parts, and materials.
- Track and maintain accurate inventory levels of stock and job‑specific materials.
- Organize warehouse stock for efficient access by field teams.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Pull and stage materials for upcoming jobs based on work orders or project schedules.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, and Technicians to ensure material readiness.
- Load and unload trucks with equipment and supplies for job sites.
- Prepare and track material deliveries to multiple job sites.
- Issue, track, and maintain tools and equipment for field employees.
- Inspect tools for condition and ensure proper maintenance or repair.
- Manage tool check‑in/check‑out processes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and yard.
- Properly store materials to prevent damage, loss, or weather exposure.
- Assist with organizing large equipment, trailers, and job site returns.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Ensure safe handling of materials, including heavy equipment and HVAC units.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or damaged materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year of warehouse, construction, or HVAC experience preferred.
- Familiarity with HVAC materials, tools, and equipment strongly preferred.
- Basic computer skills (inventory systems, scanning, or work orders).
- Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple job requests.
- Team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and self‑motivated.
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on, physical role.
