Concrete Finishers / Form Setters / Concrete Carpenters

For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot).

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

We are seeking skilled Concrete Finishers / Form Setters / Concrete Carpenters to join our construction team. This position involves forming, placing, finishing, and repairing concrete on commercial and/or residential projects. Candidates should have hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality and safety. As part of the day-to-day responsibilities, you will be completing the following:

  • Build, set, and strip concrete forms (wood, metal, or system forms)
  • Place, spread, vibrate, and finish concrete to specified grade and finish
  • Perform finishing techniques including screeding, floating, troweling, edging, and broom finishes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and specifications
  • Install embeds, anchor bolts, sleeves, and block-outs
  • Repair surface defects, patching, and finishing touch-ups
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site
  • Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations
  • Work closely with foremen and crew members to meet production schedules

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in concrete finishing and/or formwork
  • Strong knowledge of concrete tools, materials, and finishing methods
  • Ability to read basic construction drawings and elevations
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors
  • Class A CDL is preferred but not required to hire (required within 6 months)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Own your own hand tools
  • Must be able to learn from On-the-Job training and work well with others
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening
