HVAC Technician, Journeyman

The HVAC Journeyman’s primary responsibilities involve performing preventative maintenance, installing duct, compression, and other HVAC systems in new buildings, and working with apprentices to provide on‑job experience.

• Repair malfunctioning HVAC systems
• Inspect functioning systems for potential issues
• Install new HVAC systems in new build or renovation projects
• Follow blueprints from other HVAC specialists or design your own systems
• Test and troubleshoot your installations after completion
• Assist the HVAC installation team with disconnect replacements, wire pulls, and other electrical items as needed
• Use a variety of tools and techniques to repair and maintain HVAC systems and determine the best way to install new systems
• Follow all safety requirements and OSHA guidelines while working
• Complete services using protective measures to keep customers’ homes clean and undamaged
• Answer any customer questions about HVAC systems and components while striving for customer satisfaction

• Perform other duties as requested

• Proficient in HVAC systems
• Ability to use a wide variety of tools and techniques
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
• Ability to communicate policies and procedures effectively, verbally and in writing
• Ability to follow safety standards
• Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
• Ability to multi‑task
• Regular and reliable attendance

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Any air conditioning certifications

• Operate tablet, mobile phone, and other field equipment as needed
• Read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and work
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly during work hours
• Climb up and down ladders and/or step stools repeatedly during work hours
• Sit/stand for long periods of time during work hours
• Work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc.
• Work in a wide range of temperatures (indoor/outdoor)
• Travel up to 75% of the time between job sites and customer locations
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
