The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment through comprehensive maintenance and repair tasks. This position requires a solid understanding of essential equipment maintenance, including the ability to run and interpret diagnostic tests, troubleshoot Kenworth machinery, inspect disc braking systems, and assess vehicle lighting systems.
Additionally, the mechanic will be responsible for test driving vehicles to evaluate performance, conducting preventative maintenance, and meticulously documenting all service activities. A key objective will be to minimize equipment downtime to enhance operational productivity while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements- Preferences will be given to those with:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive trade
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
- Strong team player who possesses excellent initiative, decision making skills and ability to work well with fellow team members.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds, standing, walking and bending.
- Must be able to work rotating schedule, including some weekend shifts and call‑outs.
- Prefer applicant who possesses or, within reasonable time, be able to secure CDL to perform additional duties associated with maintenance and movement of equipment fleet and product.
The compensation for this position starts at $90,000, with the potential for negotiation based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include tuition reimbursement and assistance with relocation costs.
