Position Summary
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role as Dredge Operator 1 in the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Statewide Dredge, assigned to Fairfield County.
Location:
2905 Liebs Island Rd, Millersport, OH 43046. The position is a travel role, requiring statewide travel on a weekly basis.
- Operate heavy equipment to maintain dredge material relocation areas and lake improvement projects.
- Remove sediment and aquatic vegetation from waterways.
- Operate dredge‑related equipment such as pickup trucks, boats, barges, tractors, and mowers.
- Safely operate and maintain equipment; ensure compliance with safety standards.
Starting hourly pay of $21.48 /hr, increasing to $23.65 /hr over the first 3.5 years of service. Cost‑of‑living adjustments (COLA) may apply.
Qualifications- At least 6 months of training or experience in equipment operation and maintenance (e.g., tractor, dump truck) and 6 months of training or experience in equipment safety practices.
- Valid commercial driver’s license.
- Upon successful completion of the probationary period as Dredge Operator 1 (54421) will automatically progress to Dredge Operator 2 (54422).
- Preferred skills: construction maintenance, vehicle operation, natural resources.
- Professional skills: growth mindset, teamwork, continuous improvement.
Longevity pay supplements begin after 5 years of state service. Refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule and longevity rates for details.
Work HoursFull‑time: 7:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
