Must be available to work the following schedule.
- Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM‑3:30 PM.
- Possible overtime.
- Possible on‑call rotation.
Responsible for performing a variety of tasks including locating, laying, repairing and extending underground water mains and distribution pipes and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Key Accountabilities- Set up barricades and place safety lights around work site to protect workers from street traffic.
- Break up asphalt and concrete using pneumatic power tools for trenching and compaction.
- Manually dig valve boxes and curb boxes using shovel and digging bar.
- Guide pipe sections, valves and fittings into position and hold pieces steady while the worker tightens connections.
- Tap into pressurized water mains.
- Flare and connect copper piping.
- Install repair clamp on pressurized water mains and service lines.
- Operate valves and fire hydrants.
- Investigate complaints and determine corrective action per company procedure.
- Operate pneumatic and/or hydraulic boring equipment.
- Complete all necessary forms, sketches and field notes and be knowledgeable of usage of maps and records.
- Drive vehicles and/or trucks in performance of general job, including housekeeping of vehicles.
- Conduct work as assigned by the supervisor or crew leader and assist other personnel as required.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass motor vehicle background check.
DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain.
- Ability to obtain Class A CDL after probationary period.
- High School diploma or state‑recognized Educational Equivalency Certificate.
