Job Description:Applicator/Seed Treatment Support Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for assisting in seed treatment and the application of chemicals. The position will be involved in mixing chemicals, loading dry fertilizer, tendering equipment, repairs and general maintenance on equipment. The position will support seed treatment and delivery. In addition, this position will require custom application of fertilizers and pesticides and operating spray equipment. They must mix, load and apply pesticides and fertilizers to fields at approved applicable rates.
They must maintain accurate application records and communicate with customers.
This position will report to the Plant Manager of Lexington, IL. This position will work with the Lexington customer base.
Essential Functions- Assist Plant Manager/Seed Advisor in daily operations
- Must be able to operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles
- Mix, load, and apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields
- Handle and deliver bulk and package chemicals
- Load/unload pallets or seed boxes with forklift
- Treat soybeans
- Clean and maintain warehouse and equipment
- Organize and coordinate application timetable with customers
- Recertify spraying technician license and safety training every two years
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, twisting and hook up hose when applying chemical
- Knowledge of seed, chemical and fertilizer to make informed decisions
- Builds and develops long‑term relationships with customers, peers and suppliers

The position will be required to work at a retail location in all types of weather.
Classification/Expected Hours of EmploymentThis position is a full‑time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws. Days and hours of work are based on the needs of customers and seasonal work.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- High School Diploma or Associate’s degree (2 years) preferred and/or minimum 2 – 5 years of job experience required.
- CDL & Hazmat certification or willingness to complete within 60 days of employment
- Intermediate computer and software skills required.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs.
- Must be able to obtain Illinois Department of Agriculture Applicator and Seed Treatment certifications.
