Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches and differentials.
- Diagnose, adjust and repair various truck equipment.
- Inspect, test and diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road‑test vehicles to ensure proper functioning.
- Identify problems and evaluate alternatives.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on company‑issued service truck; perform periodic reconciliation.
- Operate service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs and resolve problems.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage own schedule.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
- Document work in Repair Orders using iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.
- Complete DOT and other documentation promptly.
- Work independently; maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors.
- Communicate with management via email or phone for approvals and purchase order retrieval.
- Perform work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. Alternative qualifications may be considered.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the duties.
- Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
- Successfully complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (or provide a valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining). Must be at least 21 years old.

- Accurately judge distances from the observer.
- Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions.

Hourly pay rate $26.73 – $40.10 per hour. Pay may vary based on location and qualifications. Position may be eligible for commission or incentive programs.
