Overview
Amteck, a nationally recognized Top 50 Electrical Design‑Build Contractor, has decades of experience delivering excellence in electrical construction. Responsibilities- Lead teams of 4‑6 members and perform hands‑on installation, repair, termination, certification, and troubleshooting of low‑voltage cabling and devices under the guidance of a Technologies Superintendent as needed.
- Assist site Superintendent and assume their responsibilities when required.
- Demonstrate above‑average leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills and nurture those qualities in the team.
- Work independently to determine pathways and execute installations without instruction or supervision.
- Install, repair, terminate, certify, label, and manage cabling for systems including Infrastructure (ITS), Access Control/Security, Cameras (CCTV), Paging, and Access Points (Wi‑Fi).
- Participate in service calls for troubleshooting copper, fiber, audio/visual (AV), and camera systems, identifying faults and solutions.
- Maintain inventory of materials, plan and communicate task schedules to team members, and uphold safety standards such as BICSI, ANSI, TIA, NEC, fire stopping, and riser vs. plenum environments.
- Operate test equipment, interpret copper and fiber test results, and upload results to the appropriate location.
- Print labels in accordance with job specifications, connect or patch‑in copper or fiber systems, and keep detailed records of device and cable locations.
- Adhere to safety procedures, use tools responsibly, and secure and return them to the designated area.
- Obtain and maintain required safety and manufacturer certifications (Unicam, Mini‑Com).
- 4 years of verified experience installing low‑voltage systems and cabling.
- Proficient in planning project workflows, understanding design basis, and maximizing task efficiency.
- Experience with Infrastructure (ITS), Access Control/Security, Cameras (CCTV), Paging, Access Points (Wi‑Fi), Copper, Fiber, AV, and related technologies.
- Certification in Unicam fiber terminations and Mini‑Com terminations (or ability to obtain).
- Experienced in building MDF, IDF, enclosures, ladder trays, baskets, and installing 2‑4 post racks.
- Skilled in punch‑down, routing, labeling, dressing, and terminating data jacks, mod plugs, and fiber.
- Proficient with test equipment, fluke testing software, COINS, Box, Microsoft Office, and related job‑related software.
- Knowledge of BICSI, ANSI, TIA, NEC codes for low‑voltage installations and ability to read measuring tape to 1/16 of an inch.
- Physical ability to meet role requirements and travel as needed.
