The purpose of the position is to support district‑wide family engagement activities, providing written and oral translation in languages other than English, conducting home visits, delivering family workshops, gathering and presenting engagement data, attending and communicating at family and school meetings, and creating engagement opportunities for all families.

• Respond to internal and external customers timely, accurately, courteously, and empathetically, representing FCPS positively.
• Serve as liaison between schools and families regarding family engagement.
• Coordinate training opportunities for families of students from Pre‑K through 12th grade.
• Maintain open communication with principals, staff, and families about planned engagement activities.
• Investigate and answer questions related to family engagement.
• Provide translation of school/district documents in a language other than English, including letters, newsletters, announcements, and website information.
• Collaborate with community liaisons to identify resources that support families and communicate these resources via phone, mail, email, home visits, newsletters, meetings, and virtual meetings.
• Identify and inform families experiencing challenges/crises about wraparound services such as mental health, counseling, food, and clothing banks.
• Encourage families to volunteer and maintain a current list of community resource organizations.
• Stay familiar with current state laws, board rules, and policies related to programs.
• Maintain daily work logs and submit monthly reports.
• Support Family University in collaboration with the district Family Engagement team.
• Schedule, organize, and provide monthly family engagement workshops for families and staff.
• Operate computers to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; use word processing, databases, and software programs.
• Stay current on technology and attend training as needed.
• Facilitate effective communication between parties speaking different languages.
• Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn at a novice level.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance.

• Fluency in English and at least one other required language.
• Correct oral and written usage of both languages.
• Use appropriate communication methods and media for a diverse socio‑economic population.
• Demonstrate interpersonal and social competence with culturally diverse constituents.
• Work positively with families, school, and district personnel; deliver oral, written, and visual presentations.
• Take initiative in creating, coordinating, and organizing activities and events; collect, organize, and maintain data for reports.
• Maintain knowledge of program rules and regulations.
• Ensure accurate and legible translation of documents.
• Work confidentially and with discretion.
• Use dictionaries and glossaries for reference.
• Edit and proofread text to reflect accurate language.

• High school diploma or higher.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing support to families to enhance student achievement and program management.
• Valid Kentucky driver’s license.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

This position requires flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

• Standing, sitting, and walking during work.
• Effective speech, vision, and hearing communication.
