Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition

Lexington, KY, USA – full‑time, on‑site.

Salary: $140,000‑$200,000 + bonus + equity (United States base salary).

Speechify’s mission is to make reading accessible for everyone. This position is on the Data side of the AI team and focuses on collecting, ingesting, and managing large‑scale audio datasets to train our next‑generation models.

• Identify and acquire new audio data sources to feed our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure (GCP) for data ingestion, using Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality for model training.
• Work with the AI team and leadership to shape the dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products.

• BS/​MS/​PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Experience with Docker, infrastructure‑as‑code, and at least one major cloud provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers or large‑scale data pipelines a plus.
• Strong multitasking, adaptability, and effective communication skills.

Base salary $140,000‑$200,000, plus bonus and equity based on experience.
