Java Software Engineer

Oper Axis is hiring a Java Developer for a W2 contract to hire engagement with end client JPMorgan Chase and Co. This is an on site role only. No remote and no hybrid option. Available locations include Columbus OH, New York NY, and New Jersey. Eastern Time zone work hours required from day one. Relocation is accepted where noted; confirm exact city before submission.

Work authorization must be US Citizen, Green Card, or TN (Canada). No sponsorship is available. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications supporting critical banking and financial systems.

• Design and develop enterprise Java applications for banking platforms.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Integrate systems across internal JPMorgan Chase platforms.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and infrastructure teams in Agile sprints.
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance standards.
• Support production issues and continuous improvement of existing systems.
• Document technical designs and integration contracts.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
