District 1 Garage – Auglaize C

Position Overview

Classified as Highway Maintenance Worker 1 or Highway Technician 1 depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Serve the public and work to make roads in Ohio safer.
  • Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder.
  • Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pick‑up, and mowing.
  • Perform snow & ice operations.
Qualifications
  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction (and for Technician 1: decimals, percentages & fractions) and ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction. If involved in driving motorized snow & ice control equipment, a valid commercial driver’s license is also required.
  • Experience:

    3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment (for Technician
    1).
  • Unskilled labor class exempt from written examination per Section 124.11(B)(2) of Revised Code.
