CDL Class A Relief Driver – Train Fueler and Service Technician – Regional Floater

Our dedicated trucks operate 24/7, 365 days a year, in all types of weather. Our work is not seasonal, ensuring consistent pay you can count on!
Highlights- Compensation: $85,000 + per diem, travel pay, hotel, and car provided. Our top earners make $125k+ annually.
- Schedule: Various shifts, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts (rotating shifts may occur).
- Requirements: Must have a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. No Automatic Restriction.
- Experience: 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience. Must pass a road test in a manual transmission tractor.
- Regional Travel: 75‑100% travel required. Per diem, travel pay, hotel, and car provided.

Responsibilities /Job Duties
Velocity Rail Solutions drivers are responsible for loading, transporting, and transferring red‑dyed diesel, sand, water, and lube oil into trains on an “on‑call” basis for the Railroad. On‑the‑job training will be provided for qualified individuals. The Railroad maintains dedicated trucks and drivers on duty 24/7/365, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent paychecks. You will be paid for a full 12 hours each shift, including breaks, lunches, and any wait time for dispatches.
You will be compensated for all “on‑duty” hours.
What does a relief driver do?
- Cover shifts when local drivers are on vacation or when there are open shifts that need to be filled.
- Work various shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ensure operations continue smoothly without interruption.
- Provide essential support to the team and maintain consistent service for clients.
- Cover vacations and open shifts across multiple locations within the Atlantic Region:
Knoxville, TN;
Corbin, KY;
Russell, KY;
Louisville, KY;
Bluefield, WV.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements; no automatic restriction on CDL.
- Ability to obtain TWIC card.
- 1 year of verifiable tractor‑trail driving experience.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays (shifts may rotate).
- Pass a road test in a manual transmission tractor.
- Must clear all background checks required by the company, customer, and government.
- Must not be prohibited from performing safety‑sensitive functions per FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Must have completed all required steps mandated by FMCSA in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- MVR with no major violations.
- Responsible for maintaining required licenses and certifications.
- Possess a valid DOT medical card.
- Comply with DOT regulations, including annual MVR checks and certification of violations.
- Read, write, and understand English.
- Reliable, dependable, able to ask for help, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical Requirements:
consistently bend, stoop, kneel, climb on and off elevated surfaces; walk long distances on paved/unmaintained/uneven surfaces; climb multiple times per shift; drive and work outside in adverse weather; work with non‑hazardous liquid and dry bulk materials; lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
