Job Summary
Responsible for specialized warehouse tasks in receiving, inventory, customer service, and order processing. Requires operation of a company or personal vehicle for more than 20% of the average work week.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities- Receives, counts, and records shipment data into the system.
- Matches packing list information to actual packed merchandise.
- Prepares packages/merchandise for storage.
- Records receiving data using computer.
- Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electronic marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Identifies incorrect or short shipped items and immediately notifies supervisor.
- Delivers products, supplies, and equipment to designated area.
- Operates forklift or other machinery to complete tasks.
- Verifies computations against physical count of stock.
- Examines and inspects stock items for wear and defects.
- Maintains condition of work area (free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
- Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages others to do the same.
- Performs order layout, makes changes to carriers or picking method as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of machines and tools.
- Computer experience.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team orientation and cooperative work ability.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report if required by the branch.
- Typical training/experience:
High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred. - Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
- Generally, 5+ years of experience in the area of responsibility.
- Minimum age 18 years or older.
- Must pass pre‑employment assessment(s) if applicable.
Job Requirements
- Work in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for periods up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, including use of a 10‑key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
