Job Overview

Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Building Paraprofessional/Technical Assistant to support academic and career technical (CTE) classrooms across the building. This role provides building‑wide support under the supervision of licensed teachers, primarily within Early Education and Care, Health Assisting, Cosmetology, and Culinary programs, with potential coverage in other areas. The successful candidate collaborates with educators, contributes to school‑wide goals, and supports student achievement, safety, and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with educators and staff.
  • Support lesson delivery by preparing materials, demonstrations, and equipment as directed by teachers.
  • Demonstrate instructional methods, procedures, and techniques, and ensure appropriate use of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Supervise students at all times to maintain a safe, structured environment.
  • Implement classroom and CTE safety procedures.
  • Support students with disabilities in all educational settings.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior and maintaining instructional standards.
  • Tutor students in academic and technical subjects.
  • Provide targeted support one‑on‑one or in small groups as directed by the supervising educator.
  • Help students understand and apply correct procedures and techniques.
  • Collaborate with instructors to deliver IEP accommodations and modifications.
  • Transport students as needed using Minuteman vehicles.
  • Substitute for teachers when necessary.
  • Participate in professional development and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the CTE Director and/or Principal.
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience and knowledge in Health, Culinary, Cosmetology, or Early Education industries.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required for student transport.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and foster positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Proficiency with technology use.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population, including students with disabilities.
  • Effective collaboration with instructional staff.
Additional Requirements
  • Walking around the school, observing students, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.
Terms of Employment
  • Full‑time, 10‑month position.
  • Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
Effective Date of Employment
  • August 25, 2026.
Supervisor
  • Director of Career and Technical Education.
Compensation
  • Salary range $35,000.00 – $48,214.00 prorated to date of hire.
  • Eligible for health, dental, and retirement benefits.
