Terms of Employment:
Administrative Staff – 10 months – Class C with benefits according to the LEA Unit D collective bargaining agreement.
Start Date:
Aug 31, 2026. 18 hours per week. $27.39 – $34.18 per hour.

- Build community relationships and partnerships to enable 2,230 LHS students to provide meaningful community service to the community
- Track and report on students’ progress towards meeting graduation requirements; collectively this is 90,000 hours of community service
- Conduct ongoing and continuous review of student progress and goals with students
- Establish relationships within the community that contribute to the development of current and future programs that promote hard work, community service and cultural awareness among students
- Maintain the “job board” of local work opportunities for students; builds a growing list of internships, partnerships and work opportunities for students (financial, post-secondary, activities)
- Act as primary contact for business representatives seeking to offer employment or internships with students
- Maintain a summer opportunities database
- Maintain a list of enrichment opportunities available to students
- Write and disseminate an opportunities newsletter
- Maintain the resource library
- Assist in local scholarship process for students
- Coordinate and organize freshman seminar community service projects
Formalizing this position into an Opportunities Coordinator will more clearly catalog the responsibilities and provide further opportunity to increase student options for career exploration and experience through volunteer work, internships, partnerships and employment. The sustainability of many of these opportunities is dependent upon the successful community partnership established between LHS and the community.
