Position Responsibilities
  • Teach a full course load of four mathematics classes, typically Math 2 (Geometry and Probability) and Math 3 (Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Statistics).
  • Meet and instruct high‑school students during assigned class time, creating a conducive learning environment appropriate for students’ maturity and interests.
  • Plan a program of study that addresses individual student needs, interests and abilities; establish clear objectives for lessons, units and projects.
  • Prepare lessons and provide written evidence of preparation upon request.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, using appropriate physical and technological resources.
  • Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals, assessing student progress regularly and providing progress reports as required.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assist the administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct; develop classroom rules and maintain order fairly.
  • Be available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional time when required or requested under the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers; cooperate with department heads and principals in evaluating their performance.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Expedite curriculum development programs, administer group standardized tests, and participate in faculty committees and pupil activity sponsor ships.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Massachusetts DESE teaching license in either Math 9-12 or Math 8-12.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of technological capability.
  • Ability to assist in protection of students and school property, and to participate in fire and other emergency drills as required by law and district policy.
Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
