Specialized Instructional Assistant for the Intensive Learning Program (ILP) - FLSA:

Building Principal and Evaluation Team Supervisor - Terms of Employment:
Paraprofessional Staff with benefits according to the LEA Unit C collective bargaining agreement. - Salary: $33.03 – $36.46 per hour; 32.5 hours per week.

Member of the Department of Special Education, reporting directly to the building Principal and the Director of Special Education while working under the direction of Special Education Teacher(s).
Position Responsibilities- Teach small groups of students under the direction of classroom or ILP teachers.
- Tutor individual students under the direction of academic and therapeutic staff.
- Support students in ILP and mainstream academic classes.
- Facilitate implementation of strategies and interventions to address students’ academic needs.
- Implement social/emotional intervention plans as developed by the team.
- Communicate with staff regarding students’ progress.
- Triage students to appropriate staff.
- Communicate with staff regarding students’ daily attendance to school/class.
- Take and organize data as needed to document learning and behavior at school.
- Complete school‑home logs as requested by teachers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Contribute to a positive and productive environment within the program.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred.
- Willing and able to physically manage students if needed.
- Comfort and familiarity with students identified on the autism spectrum preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and be flexible in day‑to‑day work tasks.
- Experience and commitment to working in a racially and culturally diverse teaching and learning community.
