ABOUT THE TEAM The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies.

The team is heavily involved in utilizing computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to give our war fighters and allies an advantage. ABOUT THE JOB Anduril Imaging's System Engineering team is seeking a Field Engineer to join the team. The Field Engineer will be responsible for integrating and testing EO/IR cameras at customer facilities. Your responsibilities will include integrating sensors onto aircraft, performing health and status checkouts, managing safety standards and best practices around flight lines, and debugging issues as-needed.

When not traveling, you will be responsible for testing and debugging sensors that are in the build and characterization phase of production. You should have a track record of successfully working on fast-paced, highly technical, interdisciplinary teams. You should be prepared for frequent customer-facing interactions. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
* Plan, lead, and manage the integration and testing of high-performance imaging systems from first build through field deployment.
* Travel to test sites and work with both internal and external stakeholders
* Perform hands-on integration of the electrical, firmware, mechanical, & software components of the system and provide feedback to the engineering team.
* Identify and troubleshoot system hardware & software issues.
* Perform experiments and analyze data to identify root causes and suggest courses of actions to the rest of the engineering team.
* Manage prototyping lab facility and activities including test hardware, test processes and procedure, environmental safety, and lab resources.
* Support both laboratory-based and field-based experiments and demonstrations
* Engage technically with the hardware, software, and mission teams to define, integrate, and deliver high performance systems to our customers REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of related experience.
* Experience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer
* Strong laboratory skills (e.g. design of experiments)
* A degree in a relevant technical discipline.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
* Knowledge of related disciplines such as electrical engineering, optical engineering, mechanical engineering, and thermal management.
* Demonstrated ability to work in team or individual environments.
* Demonstrated ability to give technical presentations and provide written reports and documentation.
* Willingness to travel to test sites, up to 50% in critical periods.
* Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Advanced sensing domain experience (e.g., EO/IR, LIDAR, lasers, scanning systems)
* Experience with image processing techniques for EO/IR sensors
* Advanced proficiency in an analytical tool chains/languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++)
* Experience with Linux-based operations and troubleshooting network configurations
* Experience with electrical test equipment
* Familiarity with mechanical design software
* Direct experience with airborne systems and/or imaging optical sensors
* Experience working in a R&D setting.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex field tests/demonstrations to budgetary/schedule constraints.
* A track record of successfully working on fast-paced, highly technical, interdisciplinary teams.
* Experience with optical alignment and optical performance measurement techniques US Salary Range $146,000 - $194,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
