OverviewThe Electronics for Contested Space Group develops advanced electronic systems and technology for the protection of our Nation's most important space capabilities. We design and develop state‑of‑the‑art satellites and satellite payloads, novel concepts for resilient space architectures, and the Nation's most sensitive radars, optics, and passive RF systems. The group also provides engineering rigor and experience to some of the most critical National Security programs through Laboratory‑wide collaboration and in an advisory capacity to the U.S. Government.
Examples of recent projects include the prototyping of electronic systems and effects, hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing of tactically‑relevant payloads with surrogate threat systems, developing RF subsystems for satellites, and analysis of spacecraft mission dynamics, environments, and resiliency.
Group 94, Electronics for Contested Space, is seeking a Senior Technician to work on the prototyping and development of advanced electronics and space payloads and subsystems. Activities will include the fabrication, assembly, integration, and test of RF and electronic hardware from schematics and mechanical drawings. Job functions may also include operation of technical equipment including laboratory and field data collection under the supervision of scientific personnel.
Responsibilities will include assembly of multi‑conductor and RF cables, building small electronic assemblies, mechanical/electrical assembly including wiring of devices into chassis assemblies, and soldering and desoldering of boards and terminals.
- Active Top Secret Clearance highly desirable
- Graduation from a two‑year day technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of five years of applicable experience
- Candidate should be well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with others respectfully and develop productive working relationships
- Desire to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively for periods of time without supervision
- Ability to lift light‑to‑moderate equipment (up to 60 pounds)
- Clean room assembly experience and experience working with, or certifications in military and space environmental standards are all pluses
Hiring Range: $44.63 - $48.65
