Overview

To help defend our nation, deployed forces, and allies from ballistic missile attacks, the Integrated Missile Defense Technology Group supports the Missile Defense Agency in the development, deployment, testing, and enhancement of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). We continuously develop and enhance BMDS elements to keep up with rapidly evolving threats. Our staff is involved in the development and integration of these elements from analyzing the worldwide ballistic missile threat to fielding new BMDS capabilities.

We perform system and component engineering, algorithm development, advanced technology prototyping, and validation of system performance by means of testing and analysis.

Responsibilities

Work on a broad range of problems, including simulation, modeling, algorithm development, autonomy, machine learning, hardware prototyping, field testing, and analysis. Apply AI/ML or autonomy knowledge to national security applications, including missile defense. Use Python, deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, and high-performance computing. Demonstrate proficiency in oral presentations and written reporting. Show a record of self‑motivation and ability to work well in a team environment.

Requirements
  • MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Autonomy, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aero/Astro, or a related field. In lieu of an MS degree, a BS degree and 2 years of position‑related experience will be considered.
  • Experience with Python, deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch), and high‑performance computing.
  • Proficiency in oral presentations and written reporting.
  • Record of self‑motivation and teamwork.
Salary
  • Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 - $140,000
  • Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200
