The Advanced Capabilities and Systems Group is an agile, innovative, multi‑disciplinary team that rapidly develops novel systems and technology concepts that address the nation's critical security challenges. The group starts its development with focused analyses that uncover the most impactful solutions to defense and intelligence problems, and then develops those solutions in a fast cycle of experimentation, prototyping, and testing.
Group 107 is seeking a Senior Technician to support a broad set of prototyping efforts within the Group, including the development of novel uncrewed vehicles, integration of various sensor modalities (radio frequency, electro‑optical, infrared, and acoustic), chassis design and assembly, and laboratory and field site testing. The candidate will work in an electronics laboratory supporting multiple programs to assist the group in fabrication needs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Electronic assembly and wiring from schematics;
- Assembly, test, and troubleshooting of microwave circuits utilizing electronic test equipment, antenna components, and RF coaxial components;
- Mechanical assembly from drawings and interfacing with machinists and fabrication personnel;
- Fabrication of small air, ground, and amphibious vehicles, including 3D printing and composite layup;
- Light to moderate lifting of chassis and equipment up to 50 pounds;
- Perform work under non‑laboratory conditions locally.
- Graduation from a two‑year technical school or equivalent and a minimum of five years of experience.
- Well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Operates highly technical experimental apparatus such as RF network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and RF power meters.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Good “hands‑on” skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- A motivated self‑starter with a solid work ethic.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret‑level DoD security clearance.
- Selected candidate will be subject to a pre‑employment background investigation.
Hiring Range: $44.63 - $48.65
