Job OverviewThe Advanced Undersea Systems and Technology Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory develops innovative technology for U.S. undersea and counter-undersea systems. Our focus areas include acoustic and non-acoustic sensing, advanced signal processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, and systems analysis. Our technology is hosted on manned and unmanned undersea, surface, and air vehicles as well as fixed sensors. The group engages in all phases of technology development from performance assessment to prototyping and testing for a variety of Department of Defense users, sponsors, and industry.
Responsibilities- Engage in the full application-development cycle, from brainstorming to mature capability transition.
- Participate in at-sea sensor test and validation activities.
- Develop theoretical models of physical phenomena, create laboratory-grade simulations, and refine accuracy with real-world experimental results.
- PhD in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, physics, computer science, or related field (or MS with 3–5 years experience).
- Ability to clearly communicate with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in a scientific programming language (MATLAB or Python).
- Experience in digital signal processing, estimation, and tracking algorithm development.
- + Experience with array signal processing.
- + Experience with adaptive signal processing.
- Experience analyzing or processing multi-element arrays, especially acoustic or RF sensing data.
- + Experience processing data sets in high performance computing environments.
- Experience with design trades relevant to multi-channel RF systems.
- Field test experience.
Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $145,200–$170,000.
Experienced Hiring Range: $145,200–$220,000.
