Cloud Security Architect Responsibilities
Design and implement secure, cloud‑based, mission‑critical systems for the Air Force. Recommend and evaluate tools and capabilities based on research and knowledge of on‑premise, cloud, and hybrid resources to meet the risk management framework (RMF). Work with Air Force stakeholders to ensure information assurance and security requirements are met.
Leverage latest cloud technologies to protect customer environments and continue to strengthen cloud‑security skills while mentoring junior security professionals.
Help transform and secure warfighter systems with cloud technology.
Qualifications- 1+ years evaluating compliance against RMF using DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Experience deploying, configuring, or maintaining government‑approved security tool suites.
- Experience evaluating and recommending cloud services, tools, and technologies for government organizations.
- Knowledge of CI/CD.
- HS diploma or GED.
- DoD 8140 certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, CySA+, CASP+, SANS GSEC, or ISC2 CGRC.
- Secret clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience writing IaC tools such as AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform.
- Knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate‑level cloud computing certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified AWS Solutions Architect, or Dev Ops Engineer Certification.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: $86,900.00 to $ (annualized USD). Compensation also includes health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for the benefit program.
