Responsibilities:
- Independently design, plan, execute, analyze, and report biologics characterization experiments under general direction.
- Perform analytical/biophysical studies to assess structure, heterogeneity, purity, stability, degradation pathways, post-translational modifications, higher-order structure, and product-related variants.
- Apply/execute methods such as LC-MS, peptide mapping, intact mass, glycan analysis, HPLC/UPLC, electrophoretic methods, spectroscopy, and thermal analysis.
- Contribute to characterization studies and source documentation supporting product/process understanding, comparability, stability, development, technology transfer, and regulatory submissions.
- Prepare protocols, technical reports, data summaries, method documents, and technology transfer documents; communicate results to internal teams.
- Troubleshoot non-routine method/sample/instrument/data/software/documentation/vendor issues and propose solutions.
- Stay current with analytical technologies and regulatory expectations; serve as a technical resource and may train/mentor others.
Skills:
- Associate degree + 7+ years, or Bachelor’s + 5+ years, or Master’s + 3+ years in analytical development/biologics characterization or related fields.
- Required:
hands-on laboratory experience. - Experience with biologics characterization/protein analytical methods and tools such as mass spectrometry, biophysical characterization, chromatography, and electrophoresis.
- Practical knowledge of one or more: LC-MS, peptide mapping, intact mass, glycan analysis, SEC-/RP-/IEX-/HIC-HPLC, icIEF, CE-SDS, AUC, CD, DSC, DLS, fluorescence spectroscopy.
- Ability to independently execute experiments, analyze/interpret data, document, and communicate conclusions.
- Strong problem-solving, data integrity, documentation practices (ELN/LIMS), and cross-functional collaboration.

- U.S. base salary range (Lexington, MA): $103,500–$162,690.
