Join Takeda as a Senior Research Associate, Analytical Development—Separation Sciences. You work independently on assignments with defined objectives and general direction, planning and executing routine and moderately complex experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and contributing to technical documents and project deliverables.
About the role- Contribute to separation-based analytical activities supporting biologics development, quality control readiness, method transfer, process/product understanding, comparability, stability, and regulatory submissions.
- Independently plan, execute, analyze, and document experiments using chromatographic and electrophoretic methods for biologics (e.g., monoclonal antibodies, bispecifics, therapeutic proteins).
- Design and perform analytical/biophysical studies to assess structure, heterogeneity, purity, stability, degradation pathways, PTMs, higher-order structure, and product-related variants.
- Perform chromatographic/electrophoretic analyses (SEC-HPLC, IEX-HPLC, RP-HPLC, HIC-HPLC, UPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, cIEF, glycan analysis, etc.).
- Support method development/optimization/qualification/validation/transfer/lifecycle management and QC readiness.
- Prepare/review protocols, lab records, technical reports, data summaries, SOPs, and technology transfer documentation; use electronic systems and software tools.
- Identify/communicate technical issues and propose solutions (with supervisor support); coordinate internal/external testing as assigned.
- Associate degree (4+ years), bachelor’s (2+ years), or master’s (0+ years) in analytical chemistry/biochemistry/protein chemistry/biologics analytical development/quality control or related.
- Required:
hands-on laboratory experience. - Experience with separation-based analytical methods for biologics/proteins/peptides.
- Practical knowledge of one or more relevant methods (SEC-HPLC, IEX-HPLC, RP-HPLC, HIC-HPLC, UPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, cIEF, glycan analysis, etc.).
- Experience with analytical instrumentation and digital systems (chromatography data systems, ELN, LIMS).
- Understanding of biologics quality attributes; ability to execute experiments, interpret data, and communicate results clearly.
- Ability to prepare/review technical documentation; knowledge of good documentation practices, data integrity, lab safety, and basic GMP.
- Ability to troubleshoot, propose solutions, and work across cross-functional teams.
