Software Developer, Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer

This job is with Encode Inc, a fully owned subsidiary of Lance Soft.

Pay Rate: $120 - $130 /h on W2.

Develop application software, write and implement efficient code, research, design, develop, and implement software applications and systems. Involved in system planning and deployment and responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluate, design, and implement interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, cloud offering, system architecture, security, and overall system characteristics. Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs. Identify and modify existing programs accordingly.

Determine operational practicality. Document testing, client experience and maintain system corrections. May partner and collaborate with cyber security teams to ensure compliance with security standards. May develop and conduct unit tests.

• Develop application software and efficient code.
• Research, design, develop and implement software applications and systems.
• Plan system and development deployment and ensure compliance with software standards.
• Evaluate, design and implement interface between hardware and software, cloud services, system architecture, and security.
• Identify and implement modifications to existing programs.
• Document testing and client experience; maintain system corrections.
• Collaborate with cyber‑security teams for compliance.
• Develop and conduct unit tests.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Active Secret clearance (or higher).
• At least 3 years of experience in Software/Algorithm Development.
• At least 3 years of Linux server/workstation administration.
• Program/Project Management or Analysis experience, 3 years.
• Software Documentation experience, 3 years.
• Programming in C/C++ (minimum 3 years).
• Experience with GIT/GITHUB (minimum 3 years).
• Object‑oriented Software Design and Development (minimum 3 years).
• Software Architecture (minimum 3 years).
• Software Design/Development (minimum 3 years).
• Hardware and Software Integration (minimum 3 years).

• Software Unit Testing experience.
• Programming in Bash.
• Python experience.
• MATLAB.
• ROS.

The Advanced Concepts & Technology Group develops technologies and prototypes to enhance the performance of maritime and airborne sensing to provide new capabilities to the U.S. Government. The Group executes large‑scale system prototypes as well as earlier‑stage technology development and demonstration programs with partner groups across the laboratory. The group is predominantly composed of scientists and engineers with expertise in radar, RF sensors, multispectral imaging, electronics and software/firmware.

Hybrid. The individual will be required onsite 2‑3 days a week. Candidates are expected to be local at the time of the start of the assignment.
