Job Description:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate as a Liferay Architect is responsible for devising technical solution and support strategy for overall 24/7 availability and high performance of the intranet and internet portals based in Liferay Portal platform. In case of any performance issue or outages he has the responsibility to monitor and find the root cause and coordinate with various teams like Infrastructure team, Middleware team, Infrastructure team and various teams which support the backend applications consumed by the Portal solution to implement the fix.

The candidate is responsible for all the technical aspects of monthly release deployments, and devising User Onboarding/Provisioning strategy for all the portal solutions to have a seamless and smooth merger from old platform to new platform of the portal solution. If needed candidate works with Liferay Product consultants and Customer support group to fix issues, get the latest fixes/patches applied for the product or do performance reviews for the FMC portal solutions.

The candidate is responsible for overseeing and developing upgrade/migration plan for any necessary Liferay Product Version upgrades (Liferay DXP). This includes making the stake holders aware of the overall effort, technical challenges, infrastructure changes needed for the upgrade. The candidate creates technical solution approach documents for new features and coordinates with Architecture review board to get it approved. He develops working Proof of concepts for different client requirements as applicable.

This POC work is leveraged by offshore team to develop those module implementations. The candidate oversees the design, coordination, User acceptance testing and Performance load tests for each the development cycles which gives secure and easy online portal solution with User customizable Dashboards. It also includes supporting integration with different backend systems like clinical systems, SAP system etc. The candidate is responsible for providing consultation for FMC Portal solutions & Content management solution to the client specifically on Liferay DXP Enterprise Portal.

He supports Development team in the development process as well as responsible for the analysis and outlining the features of the specific type of Portal solution needed by client, Integration framework to integrate legacy systems, Portlet Development framework for the applications to be built for the Portal, Content Management solution, Authentication, Single sign on and security framework.

Desired:

• 10+ years of experience in building Java /J2EE based web application with sound knowledge in Spring Framework.
• 4+ years of hands on experience with Liferay Portal (6.x) and working knowledge on Liferay DxP and OSGI framework. The proposed project is based on Liferay DxP.
• Working knowledge with Java Design Patterns.
• Experience on multichannel Portal solution/project implementation/design experience.
• Hands on Experience with Java Web Services, Spring, RESTful services.
• Proven Ability to design and architect Liferay applications.
• Should have prior experience with agile model of software development.
• Knowledge on jQuery, AlloyUI framework.
• Sound knowledge in Liferay Web Content Management system including workflow management tools integration. Should be able to guide and set up authoring, rendering and content elevation process.
• Experience is Code quality control using tools like Sonar Qube.
• Hands on experience with different build environment and software configuration management tools like :
  Maven, Gradle, Jenkins,SVN, Github etc.
• Experience on enterprise Portal & Java framework development: JSR 286, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate and external application integration/enablement through a portal framework.
• Should be conversant with frameworks for Responsive Web Design like Bootstrap.
• Experience on Portal Integration with Middleware and other products using REST Web Services or API platforms.
• Experienced with Performance improvement techniques, proactive monitoring.
