Robotics Software Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Robotics Software Engineer to develop software for real-world autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic systems. This role spans perception, controls, planning, sensor integration, AI-assisted software development, and deployment on embedded compute platforms. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and embedded engineers to take robotic systems from prototype through field testing and deployment.

• Develop robotics software primarily in C++ and Python
• Build and maintain systems using ROS 2
• Integrate cameras, depth sensors, encoders, IMUs, motor controllers, and other robotic hardware
• Develop perception pipelines for object detection, tracking, localization, and sensor fusion
• Implement motion planning, trajectory generation, and robotic control algorithms
• Integrate robotic arms, mobile platforms, actuators, and end effectors
• Deploy and optimize software on embedded GPU platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson
• Develop simulation and validation workflows using tools such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or similar
• Use modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and other coding agents as part of the engineering workflow
• Build and improve agentic development harnesses that allow coding agents to implement, test, debug, and validate changes reliably
  
  Write clear technical specifications, requirements, acceptance criteria, and automated tests
• Review AI-generated and human-written code for correctness, architecture, maintainability, and system-level impact
• Improve development workflows through automation, CI, testing, simulation, and reproducible environments
• Diagnose issues across software, sensors, networking, compute, and hardware interfaces
• Participate directly in robot bring-up, field testing, and customer-facing technical work Communicate technical progress, tradeoffs, issues, and results clearly to internal teams and clients

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python
• Experience developing software for robotic or autonomous systems
• Experience with ROS or ROS 2
• Understanding of coordinate frames, transformations, kinematics, and core robotics concepts
• Experience integrating real sensors, actuators, or robotic hardware
• Comfortable developing and debugging on Linux
• Ability to troubleshoot problems across multiple parts of a robotic system
• Experience using modern AI coding tools as part of a professional development workflow
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar AI coding agents
• Experience designing agent workflows, coding-agent harnesses, automated code review, or spec-driven development processes
• Experience with computer vision or deep-learning perception
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, TensorRT, or Deep Stream
• Experience with SLAM, visual odometry, localization, or sensor fusion
• Experience with robotic manipulators, motion planning, or trajectory optimization
• Experience with optimal control, MPC, QP-based control, or similar techniques
• Experience with CAN, Ethernet, serial interfaces, and embedded hardware
• Experience deploying robots in outdoor, industrial, agricultural, or other unstructured environments
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or containerized development
