Employment references are required.

• Work in conjunction with the Classroom Teacher to schedule, complete, and track all required home visits, conferences, developmental screenings, ongoing assessments, and timely online entry of classroom observations and documentation.
• Assist in creating and updating individualized plans with parents to address each child’s needs and track child progress.
• Guide and facilitate child activities, including daily routines, field trips, and selection of equipment, in alignment with Creative Curriculum Standards, HSPS, State Licensing Mandates, and UMOS Policies.
• Maintain the indoor and outdoor learning environments through setup, maintenance, and daily preparation/cleanup.
• Assist in implementing Children’s I.E.P. or I.F.S.P. and seek clarification on any unclear aspects.
• Support the teacher in completing required reports on children and classroom activities.
• Communicate with families, maintaining written and verbal dialogue regarding developmental progress and other pertinent information.
• Engage children at eye level, using appropriate tone of voice and modeling language to extend their thinking.
• Participate in the Family Style Meal Service to develop children’s social, self‑help skills, and nutritional practices, and complete required documentation per the Child‑Adult Care Food Program.
• Follow health and safety policies, including storage of hazardous materials, health/safety checklists, handwashing, injury/accident prevention, and sanitization.
• Assist the teacher in generating and collecting non‑federal share (In‑kind).
• Maintain positive guidance and behavioral management techniques.
• Provide direct sight and sound supervision of all children and demonstrate active supervision.
• Communicate with the bus driver/monitor to share information with parents and assist in loading/unloading children.
• Attend all staff meetings, trainings, in‑service training sessions, and center activities as directed by the CDC/Center Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid high‑school diploma or GED certificate.
• Preschool (PS) Child Development Associate credential or a state‑awarded certificate equivalent to a CDA credential, or enrollment in a CDA program upon acceptance, with completion within one year.
• Some childcare experience is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and internet usage.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and adequate car insurance.
• Ability to work flexible, irregular hours with some travel.

• Frequently stand, walk, sit, and bend.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 30 lbs.
• Occasionally operate a vehicle.
• Frequent exposure to temperature variations in controlled or uncontrolled environments.
• Typical noise level moderate to high.
• Occasional requirement to ride the school bus and travel on bumpy conditions.

• Phones, computer systems.
• Fax machine, copy machine, laminator, calculator.
• First aid equipment and fire extinguisher.
• Other equipment as required by position.

• Criminal background check prior to employment.
• Physical exam and TB screening showing absence of tuberculosis within 30 days of employment.
• Completion of SIDS & Shaken Baby Training.
• Fire Extinguisher Training.
• Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days.
• Registration in the state childcare registry.
