Position Overview

Graduate Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg/ICU Unit, Lafayette Regional Health Center, Lexington, MO.

The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year‑long paid program designed to provide hands‑on experience and support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes in status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered, documenting care in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response; intervene as needed.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow‑up.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within one year of employment.
• Other certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse license within 90 days of graduation.
• Willingness to travel for training if necessary.
