Job Summary
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at HCA Healthcare provides graduate nurses with a year‑long paid program that supports the transition from classroom to clinical practice through structured learning experiences, including advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, mentorship, and an evidence‑based practice project.

- Assess patient condition during admissions and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status
- Perform procedures, monitoring or other functions as ordered by the medical provider; document administration of care promptly
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, notify provider and intervene for adverse reactions
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate patient needs
- Teach patients, families and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures; translate complex terminology for understanding
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the state of employment
- No prior experience required
- Some travel may be required for training
Start dates are flexible and begin every two weeks throughout the year to accommodate graduation dates, relocation, vacations and NCLEX. Applicants must be current or recent graduates (December 2025 to September 2026).
