Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel RN Labor and Delivery for a 12‑week assignment in Lexington, Nebraska. The position requires 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts, and offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to obstetric nursing protocols
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care, assessing and stabilizing mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines
• Perform other duties within the scope of labor and delivery nursing as assigned

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for the position

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical stamina: stay stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
• Interpersonal: work effectively with varied personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor: grasp, fine manipulation, push/pull, assist with procedures and equipment
• Mental: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with occasional supervision
