Our Fortune 500 Utility Client is seeking a Civil Superintendent/Inspector to support the construction of a new LNG facility in Lexington, NC. This position will serve as the owner's civil construction representative and will oversee all civil and site development activities performed by the EPC contractor.
The Civil Superintendent will ensure that sitework, grading, foundations, drainage systems, structural concrete, and underground utility installations are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Represent our client as the owner's civil construction representative.
- Provide field oversight of all civil construction activities.
- Monitor contractor performance for site development, grading, excavation, foundations, concrete placement, roadways, drainage systems, underground utilities, and structural work.
- Conduct inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Review contractor construction methods and quality control documentation.
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular reporting to project leadership.
- Identify field issues, deficiencies, and corrective action requirements.
- Ensure contractors maintain compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, inspections, and contractor coordination efforts.
- Support civil completion, turnover, and commissioning readiness activities.
- 10+ years of civil construction inspection, superintendent, or field engineering experience.
- Extensive experience supporting LNG, natural gas, industrial facilities, petrochemical, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of earthwork, foundations, concrete construction, underground utilities, drainage systems, and site development.
- Experience overseeing EPC contractors on large capital construction projects.
- Ability to interpret civil drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of applicable civil construction standards and regulations.
- Strong field leadership and communication skills.
- LNG facility construction experience.
- Experience with large-scale industrial facilities or utility infrastructure projects.
- Owner's representative experience.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting requirements.
- Construction quality assurance/quality control experience.
- 12 month W2 contract with strong potential for extension
