What you'll do on a typical day
The Senior Director of Student Belonging & Well-Being provides leadership for the implementation and oversight of a comprehensive, student-centered support system designed to remove barriers, promote well-being, and enhance student engagement, retention, and success. This role ensures coordinated delivery of services that support students' academic, personal, and basic needs while fostering a sense of belonging across the College.
The position utilizes a holistic approach grounded in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, emotional, social, physical, financial, environmental, intellectual, occupational, and spiritual-to support the overall well-being and success of students.
Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Senior Director oversees accessibility services, counseling, student accountability and Title IX, campus connections (non-academic resources), student life, and the fitness center. The position collaborates across the institution and with community partners to strengthen student support systems, enhance the student experience, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
* Leads the implementation and coordination of student support and engagement services that promote student retention, persistence, and overall well-being
* Provides oversight for accessibility services, counseling, student accountability and Title IX, campus connections, student life, and fitness center operations
* Develops and implements strategies to identify and address barriers impacting student success, including academic, financial, personal, and social challenges
* Ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, including ADA/Section 504, Title IX, FERPA, and student accountability policies
* Serves as the College's Student Accountability and Title IX Officer, ensuring timely, fair, and compliant resolution of cases
* Provides leadership in responding to student behavioral concerns through coordinated intervention, case management, and referral processes
* Builds and maintains partnerships with community organizations and service providers to support student basic needs, including housing, food security, and mental health services
* Leads initiatives that foster student engagement, belonging, and a positive campus climate through student life programming and wellness initiatives
* Utilizes data to assess service utilization, student engagement, and trends to inform strategies that improve retention and student outcomes
* Develops and delivers training and educational programs for faculty, staff, and students related to student support, accountability, compliance, and well-being
* Collaborates with Academic Affairs, Advising, and other student services areas to ensure coordinated and holistic support for students
* Identifies gaps in services and implements solutions to improve access, efficiency, and effectiveness of student support systems
* Provides leadership for staff, including supervision, performance management, and professional development
* Develops and manages departmental budgets, aligning resources with institutional priorities and student needs
* Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, vision, and goals of the College
Your attributes
Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university
* Four (4) or more years of progressive experience in student services, counseling, accessibility services, student conduct, Title IX, or a related field
* Four (4) or more years of supervisory experience
* Two (2) or more years of experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulations related to student services (e.g., ADA/Section 504, Title IX, FERPA, or student conduct)
* Two (2) or more years of experience responding to student concerns, including behavioral, conduct, or crisis-related situations
Preferred Qualifications:
* Higher Education Experience
* Community College Experience
* Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in student services, counseling, accessibility services, student conduct, Title IX, or a related field
* Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience
* Three (3) or more years of experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulations related to student services (e.g., ADA/Section 504, Title IX, FERPA, or student conduct)
