Job SummaryStratosphere Quality is seeking Quality Engineer / CMM Operator for a short-term, on-site project supporting dimensional inspection and capability studies. This role requires hands‑on experience operating a Romer Arm (Hexagon Absolute Arm) and strong knowledge of GD&T.
No per diem or mileage reimbursement is offered. Candidates must reside in the project area.
Location: Thomson, GA or Lexington, NC (must be local to project site)
Pay Rate: $40–$45 per hour
Schedule: Day shift | ~ 40–45 hours per week
Duration: Estimated 2–4+ weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Perform capability studies on critical dimensions using customer drawings and parts
- Set up and operate Romer Arm (Hexagon Absolute Arm Model 8525)
- Use Hexagon Inspire 2025 software to complete inspections
- Interpret complex blueprints, including GD&T requirements
- Analyze inspection data and complete statistical evaluations
- Prepare and deliver clear capability study reports
- Experience in Quality Engineering and CMM operation
- Strong GD&T and blueprint interpretation skills
- Experience completing capability studies and statistical analysis
- Proficiency with inspection software and measurement tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convert between metric and English units
- Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment

- Inspection fixtures provided on site
