Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Package Engineer role based in Lexington, NC.
Responsibilities- Design and develop packaging solutions for custom POP displays, fixtures, and components to ensure product protection, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
- Create packaging specifications and drawings.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to align packaging with display design.
- Select appropriate materials and methods for packaging and shipping.
- Conduct packaging tests and review performance data.
- Make improvements to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Manage packaging-related projects, support continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor, and coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
- Strong skills in Packaging Engineering and Packaging Design, with experience creating specifications, drawings, and instructions for production and assembly.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with the ability to understand structural requirements and material properties for displays and packaging.
- Experience with testing of packaging solutions, including performance evaluations, documentation of results, and implementing design improvements.
- Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and track packaging projects, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and meet timelines and cost targets.
- Proficiency with CAD or similar design software for packaging and mechanical layouts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on manufacturability and efficiency.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, production, sales, and external partners in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with materials such as corrugated, foam, plastics, and protective packaging, and knowledge of shipping and handling standards is beneficial.
