Commissioning Technician

Overview

To succeed in this role, you must have:
Technical competence in both electrical & mechanical systems;

Ability to work unsupervised in transit authority locations;
Valid driver’s license as travel is required to assist out-of-state locations!

• Technical certification(s) are an asset

• At least 5 years of experience working as a technician or equivalent
• Experience in Mass Transit or Rail is of value

• Technical training in both electrical & mechanical systems
• Knowledge of the rail industry is an asset
• Strong knowledge of PCs/laptops
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel
• Ability to troubleshoot using a laptop as a tool
• Ability to perform software downloads
• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Be sure to thoroughly understand and be able to apply the manufacturer’s procedures and guidelines
• Assist the railcar builder (and occasionally the transit authority) with debugging and troubleshooting the FTNA systems (as per contractual agreements between FTNA and the customer) on an as-required basis
• Assist the railcar builder during the car commissioning and warranty phases of the project by providing support for the FTNA systems at the transit authority location and at the railcar assembly plant in other locations as required
• Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems on the FTNA systems
