Maintenance Technician II – Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Lexington Medical Center, Lexington, NC.
Responsibilities- Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards, documenting work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers and controls with moderate guidance.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair patient‑care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables) not maintained by other departments.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical systems including pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigeration/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems with moderate guidance.
- Handle routine to moderately complex general maintenance functions in grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting and snow removal.
- Respond to emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages and equipment failures per emergency response plans.
- Respond to building occupant requests, perform zone maintenance rounding and keep requesters informed of status.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
- Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls and smoke partitions.
- Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
- Driver’s license required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2–4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
- Basic computer skills (CMMS, building automation, Microsoft Office).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs (floor to chest, waist‑height, or overhead). Lift and pull 50 lbs of force.
- Stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, twist, and crawl throughout the workday.
- Work in environments with electrical and mechanical hazards, road/weather hazards, and on a rotating shift schedule.
- Required to travel to facility sites as needed.
