Position Overview

An Assembler Technician I in our world‑class passenger train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina, supports a broad range of mechanical and assembly activities in a dynamic, high‑energy production environment in final assembly of the best rail vehicles in the world.
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 pm – 2:30 am.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
  • Apply adhesive, assemble, and align floor panels, windows, and door assemblies.
  • Install mechanical components such as insulation, sidewall panels, seating, and luggage racks.
  • Route and connect electrical wiring harnesses to final termination points and subassemblies.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
  • Perform duties based on production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce electrical or electro‑mechanical subassemblies.
  • Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
Qualifications
  • High school education or state‑recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Experience with electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive, or electrical service industries preferred.
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
  • Knowledge of reading blueprints, diagrams, and various part lists is helpful.
Physical Demands
  • Comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required.
  • Tasks may involve standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools.
  • Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors.
  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required.

Hourly rate for this position in Lexington, NC is $17.00 – $20.91, plus an additional 10 % shift differential. Rate may vary by budget and candidate qualifications.
