Position Overview

Join the dynamic team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility's Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in producing passenger locomotives, coaches, and light rail vehicles. As a Logistics Transport Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting a wide range of operational activities within a fast-paced, high-energy production environment. Your work will contribute directly to the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies that form the backbone of some of the most advanced rail vehicles in the world.

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Support rail vehicle movements throughout the facility
  • Apply strong mechanical knowledge to daily tasks
  • Prepare flatcars and load rail vehicles onto flatcars or tractor trailers according to established procedures
  • Secure rail vehicles using specialized tie‑down methods and materials
  • Conduct visual inspections and establish quality checks on all equipment and rigging
  • Operate hand and power shop tools safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints; use hand and power tools with precision
  • Assist with special activities throughout the facility as directed by the lead technician
  • Perform maintenance tasks based on production blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions, covering equipment used in production, transportation, or facility operations
  • Communicate clearly and follow instructions accurately
To thrive in this role, you have
  • A high school diploma, state‑recognized GED, or an equivalent blend of education and experience
  • At least one year of hands‑on experience operating equipment
  • Proven proficiency in various rigging methods and tie‑down techniques
  • A valid driver’s license
Physical Demands
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required
  • Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools
  • Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors
  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
  • Specific vision abilities include:

    • Ability to adjust focus

Details regarding our benefits can be found here:  The base rate for this position in Lexington, NC starts at $19/hr, plus an additional 10% for shift differential. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. 19.00/hr 10%
