JT Russell & Sons, Inc. is a family-owned highway construction company offering asphalt products and services such as grading, paving, hot mix asphalt, liquid asphalt, recycling, and more. The company trains employees with up-to-date technology to produce high-quality asphalt products.

• Engage in essential general labor duties such as shoveling, sweeping, and using a wheelbarrow to maintain an efficient work environment.
• Operate small equipment, including a skid steer, to support plant production and assist with repair and maintenance of machinery.
• Keep grounds clean and attractive year-round and perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Handle minor equipment repairs and report significant maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations and follow company safety procedures.
• Contribute to a safe work environment and perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively.
• Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain safety.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and lift regularly up to 50 pounds (with occasional heavier lifting as required); manual dexterity to use tools and operate equipment.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions; willingness to work near heavy equipment and moving machinery; exposure to substances commonly found on construction sites (oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel).
• Flexible start time around 6:30 am; ability to work nights and weekends when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Lexington Asphalt Plant.
• Respectful interaction with co-workers, customers, and the public; strong teamwork and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
